Eccola collects only your email address, the type of member you are (brand, creator or other), a record of where and when you first agreed to receive our emails, and, if you book a call, your name and booking details. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the rights you have, whether you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United States.
Who we are
Eccola is a platform in development that connects fragrance brands with content creators. The website joineccola.com is operated by Alexa De Angelis, an individual based in Rome, Italy, who is the “data controller” responsible for your personal data. When Eccola is incorporated as a company, this policy will be updated to name it.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@joineccola.com.

What data we collect and how
You give us almost all of this data directly. We collect it when you:
- Join our email list on joineccola.com. We collect your email address and the type of member you choose (brand, creator or other). We also record that you signed up through our website and the date and time you first gave your consent. If you sign up again later, we keep that first date and time, so we can show that we only emailed you after you agreed.
- Book a call with Alexa through Calendly. Calendly collects your name, email address, the date, time and time zone of your call, and any answers you give to the booking questions. If you tick the box asking to receive Eccola updates, we also add your email address and member type to our email list.
- Email us. We receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
We also receive limited technical data automatically:
- When you visit the website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic browser information so the site can load securely and be protected from attacks.
- When you open our emails, our email provider, Brevo, records whether you opened an email and which links you clicked, so we can see what content is useful.
- When you open the Calendly scheduler on our website, Calendly may set cookies and collect technical data, as described under Cookies below.
We do not collect payment details, government ID numbers, or any sensitive data such as health information. We do not buy or receive your data from data brokers or other third parties.
How we use your data, and our legal basis
EU and UK data protection law (the GDPR) requires a legal basis for each use of your data. Ours are:
| What we use it for | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Sending you Eccola news, launch updates and early-access offers, tailored to brands or creators | Email address, member type | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keeping proof of where and when you agreed to receive our emails | Email address, sign-up source, date and time of your first consent | Our legal obligation to be able to show your consent |
| Understanding which emails are useful | Email opens and link clicks | Your consent to receive our emails |
| Scheduling, holding and following up on a call you booked | Name, email, booking details and answers | Taking steps you asked for, and our legitimate interest in responding to you |
| Answering your emails and requests | Email address, your message | Our legitimate interest in responding to you |
| Keeping the website secure and working | IP address, browser data | Our legitimate interest in running a secure website |
| Keeping a record of your opt-out so we never email you again by mistake | Email address | Our legal obligation and legitimate interest |
We do not sell your personal data, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to make automated decisions that affect you.
Who we share your data with
We share your data only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf under data processing agreements and may not use it for their own marketing.
| Provider | What they do for us | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Brevo | Stores our email list and sends our emails | France, data hosted in the EU |
| Calendly LLC | Runs our call booking | United States |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosts and secures the website | United States, global network |
| Google (Gmail) | Receives emails sent to hello@joineccola.com, which are forwarded to our Gmail inbox | United States |
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights. We never share your data with fragrance brands, creators or other partners without asking you first.
International transfers
Eccola is run from Italy and the United States, and some providers above are based in the US. When your data leaves the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on recognized safeguards: the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.
How long we keep your data, and how we protect it
- Email list: for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it, keeping only your email address on a suppression list so we never email you again, together with the record of where and when you first consented, so we can show that we had your consent for any emails we sent before.
- Call bookings, related notes and emails you send us: for as long as we need them to follow up with you and maintain our professional relationship, or until you ask us to delete them. We review these records once a year and delete those we no longer need.
- Website security logs: for the short periods set by Cloudflare.
We use reputable providers with strong security, protect our accounts with unique passwords and two-factor authentication, and limit access to Alexa alone. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you and the relevant authority promptly if a breach puts your data at risk.
Marketing emails
We only send you Eccola emails if you signed up on our website or ticked the updates box when booking a call. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by writing to hello@joineccola.com. Our emails may invite you to join our other lists (for example, creator updates as well as brand updates); we only add you if you choose to join.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access your data and receive a copy of it
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete your data
- Restrict how we use your data, in certain cases
- Object to our use of your data based on legitimate interest, and to marketing at any time
- Transfer your data to you or another organization (data portability)
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it
If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you have similar rights to know, access, correct and delete your data, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data or targeted advertising. We do not sell or share your data or use it for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
To use any right, email hello@joineccola.com. Requests are free. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will reply within one month (GDPR) or 45 days (US state laws), and tell you if we need more time.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device. Our own website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Strictly necessary: Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell real visitors apart from bots. It holds no information about who you are.
- Calendly: when you open the scheduler on our website, Calendly may set its own cookies to run the booking tool and remember your preferences. These are covered by Calendly’s own privacy and cookie notices, available on calendly.com.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The booking tool may not work if you block Calendly’s cookies; you can always email us to arrange a call instead. Our website does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because we do not track you across other websites.
Children
Eccola is a professional service for adults working in the fragrance industry. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our website and emails link to other websites, such as Calendly and social media. This policy covers only Eccola, so please read the privacy policies of the sites you visit.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy regularly, and will update it as Eccola grows and when we incorporate the business. We will post any changes on this page and, for important changes, tell you by email. This policy was last updated on 23 October 2026.
How to contact us
For any question about this policy or your data, or to use your rights, email hello@joineccola.com.
How to complain to an authority
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data or your request, you can complain to a data protection authority. As Eccola is run from Italy, our lead authority is the Italian Garante:
- Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Roma, Italy
- Certified email (PEC): protocollo@pec.gpdp.it
- Website: garanteprivacy.it
You can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live or work, or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). US residents can contact their state Attorney General. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please contact us before you complain.
